New Office Procedures Portal Message Dated 9/3/21

September 3, 2021

To our valued FMC Family,

Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in our community, our office will be implementing the following protocol for a minimum of 4 weeks.

Starting August 31st,2021, our waiting room is closed. We are now conducting most of our visits virtually with real time video conferencing, thru the Healow Portal via your smartphone app or via your computer (with video and microphone capability). We have already begun contacting patients with current appointments to convert appointments to virtual visits. Your virtual appointment will be a condensed visit. If you already have a virtual visit scheduled, we will keep your appointment as scheduled.

Please wait for our office to contact you. Our staff is working hard to systematically evaluate the schedule and act appropriately.

We will have in-person office acute care visits available, in a reduced capacity. If you have an in-person visit scheduled, when you arrive for your visit, please call us from your vehicle to let us know you are here.  We do a COVID screening over the phone then we will escort you into the office. If you have trouble reaching us to check in for appointment, please try again. We are experiencing an increased volume of calls.

Extended wait times are to be expected in all capacities.

Due to the high call volume, our patient portal is a great way to contact us for non-emergent questions. Please allow 24-72 hours for a response. For more information on the portal, go to our website www.fmchawaii.com, click on the patient portal tab.

It is all our Kuleana to keep the community safe.

Please continue to wear your mask, social distance, stay home and get vaccinated.

Sincerely,

The providers and staff of The Family Medicine Center
